Bison Baseball Sandlot
The Sandlot League gets young players more reps in baseball, both at the plate and in the field, in a fun and instructive environment. We do this in the following ways:
- Limiting team rosters to 7-9 players
- This allows more opportunities for players to field the ball
- Also allows less waiting around to hit
- “Communal Coaching” where all coaches are encouraged to offer instruction to players on both teams in real-time during games
- Augmenting gameplay rules throughout the season as kids develop their skills
- A heavy focus on fun and positivity while teaching kids the fundamentals of baseball
All players will receive a Bison Baseball hat and jersey.
Who can play Sandlot League
- T-Ball Sandlot League accepts players from 5-6 years of age.
- Coach Pitch is 7-8 year olds.
When
Sandlot season will run from early May through the end of June
Where
All games will be played at Lions Park in Buffalo
Practices
Practices will occur the first two weeks of the season
Games
Games will be played twice a week. Typical games last 60 minutes in length
During the first part of the season, some coaches may agree to start with a practice for the first 15 minutes and then have a game.
Jerseys
Players will receive a Bison Baseball Jersey and a hat.
