Interested in becoming a Coach?

Have you ever felt a strong desire to help others grow, succeed, and reach their full potential? Coaching is more than giving advice—it’s about listening deeply, asking powerful questions, and guiding people toward meaningful change. Whether you’re passionate about personal development, leadership, sports, or life transformation, becoming a coach allows you to turn your experience and insight into real impact. This journey challenges you to grow alongside those you support, making coaching both a rewarding profession and a powerful calling.

Applying for a Head or Assistant Coach

During your child's registration, there will be a question on whether you or someone in your family are interested in becoming a HEAD COACH or ASSITANT COACH

Approximately two weeks prior to tryouts, those that respond to either of these questions will receive an email with a questionnaire regarding this position.

Subsequently, coaches will be selected for interviews with the BHBA the week prior to tryouts.

Notification of acceptance into the BHBA coaching team will occur after tryouts and teams are formed.

NOTE: If you do not have a child playing for the BHBA, please email the association directly at buffalohanoverbaseball@gmail.com

The Interview

All coaches will complete a background check to help us keep our players and community safe. Once that’s cleared, we’ll invite you to an in-person interview—think of it as a friendly conversation.

The interview will be about 20–30 minutes and will be held with a few members of the BHBA Board. We’ll chat about your baseball and/or coaching experience (or lack of!), why you’re interested in coaching, your availability, and your willingness to be part of our team.

No need to be nervous! Our goal is to build a strong sense of community and a lifelong love of baseball throughout the BHM districts—one that lasts well beyond your child’s playing years. If you’ve never coached before or are brand new to team sports, don’t worry at all. BHBA is here to support you every step of the way with training opportunities, sample practice plans, and guidance from a dedicated team liaison.

Parents, family members, and partners are all encouraged to apply! If you’re excited to help kids grow, learn, and have fun on the field, we’d love to meet you!
